Living an Aligned Life

Cynthia Banks
I’ve been thinking about alignment quite a bit lately.  The reason may be that we’re in the throes of a pandemic and I am focusing on what truly matters.  I’m thinking that life is short, and time is very precious, so I need to make the absolute most if it and to not squander any of it.

When the tires on a car are out of alignment, it takes more effort to keep it moving in the direction you want it to go in.    This is also a metaphor for our lives.  When we are living lives that are out of alignment with our values, personality, and strengths, it takes a lot of effort to keep it moving in the right direction.

Life can be so demanding that we don’t believe that we have the luxury of thinking about what really matters to us and why it matters.  We go day to day on autopilot and wonder why we feel physically exhausted and mentally drained.  I have learned that by really knowing yourself, your strengths, personality, and values, you are able to make informed decisions based on what really matters most to you.

This has been life-changing for me.  I am writing this blog post because of it.  I am a coach because of it.

It is possible for you to live an aligned life.  You can live the life you want once you discover what you really want and decide to pursue it.
